hello there. it is raining here. cold cold cold [i wish it would just snow]. i dressed in 3 shades of gray to compliment the weather....

above is a catalogue i designed for my former teacher [now mentor and friend] katherine sherwood . her work continually blows me away. it was the first time i worked on something that was over 60 pages. it was for her show at the national academy of sciences. you can read more here

you should also read this interview with with aurora robson [my couplets show partner]. she's been working on a GIANT sculpture and you can get a sneak peek in the article. it takes my breath away.... she's using recycled plastic bottles. talk about transformation.

hope you are all having a good weekend. i'm about to enjoy a cooked at the table meal by my husband. sigh.

wow -that books looks beautiful! I love the cover image. Such a fun project and how wonderful to work on a book about someone you admire.
The plastic bottle sculpture looks amazing as well. I bet it's even better in person.
thanks for the inspiration this weekend -it's grey here too. I don't mind though-at least it's not 14 below zero anymore....:)

Sounds like a huge undertaking with an amazing outcome!! I am good friends with a professor/author from university days. Isn't it wonderful to have such a person in your life?

Oh Lisa...I am so glad you posted about Katherine's work--it looks amazing. I hope the catalog is available online somewhere for purchase?
Thank you for linking to Aurora's interview too. So wonderful to hear more about her work and motivation. You are both so lovely...and such an wonderful inspiration. I wish couplets had been a much longer exhibit. Ah well...until Sweden:)

I am in grey today too...and in a cooking mood {already done a pancake and berries brunch}. COLD and wet here too...nice fodder for a w/end though.
