using the big shot

bigshot look up*straight*down

here are 3 of my big shot tests. it's such an awkward camera [in a good way, but it's still odd]. it's big - cumbersome - and you have to line up your image in your viewfinder [there's a mirror so you get 2 images] in order for it to be in focus. i think i'm making it harder on myself by not shooting many people as subjects. [pets are hard to get to sit still against a plain background]. you've got to be about 4 feet away from your subject - so you can't crop the same way you can in other cameras.... being a fan of parameters i like this fact, but it can make some shots difficult [i had to lay on the ground to get the clothespins to focus]

i do like the expired fuji film blue, though....

this has been the week of miscommunication. wrong things said at the wrong time to different people under different circumstances. not that there's been any huge disasters, but i'm finding it tiring. it's stupid things like a print client referring to one image using a description where i think they are referring to another. of course there's a deadline, and they couldn't provide everything on time, so the whole job feels tense.... oh well. i'm hoping it's just this week.

i'm thinking a root beer float might make me feel better. it's SUPER hot here today. i'm off to the studio. that might make me feel better too. as long as i don't miscommunicate with myself....

I'm sorry it's been a funky communication week. ;) But I'm grateful to you for so clearly communicating that a root beer float might solve all the worlds problems (that's what you said, right?). Because I think you just solved mine...off to find a frosty mug. Yum! Happy Weekend, Lisa!

Well, I already know that you know that a root beer float is just the thing for comfort and miscommunications. Miscommunications suck and root beer floats rule. You too. xo

I'm liking the film, too. Have you had any happy accidents with your shots? Perhaps something new and wonderful can come of this more awkward camera.

The root beer float will make you feel better. That's what they were made for!... I think.

Ah, miscommunication sucks and clients usually make you feel like it's your fault, don't they?...ah well...i'm prescribing a bathtub sized rootbeer float...and here is a hug from me...there, there...pat, pat. weekend's just around the corner... :)

Some people hate root beer. But I know differently. Having grown up drinking root beer with an occasional float for good measure I have found that this is a time honored cure for life's minor mishaps! The challenge is in finding the right kind of root beer in the community where one lives......sigh, sigh, sigh....

A root beer float and time in your studio sounds like the perfect cure all. I'll be doing a little of the same only my drink of choice will be another strong coffee.

Thanks for your exhibition well wishes... it meant so much to me, and I owe you an email.

Enjoy the remainder of the weekend, and here's to a brilliant and clear week, g xx

We seem to have gotten a lot of wet weather over here, send some sun! Loving your polaroids, the lines on top of them make it so interesting - enjoy experimenting + hope you have a better week coming.
